Thai woven fabrics are considered as a heritage of wisdom of Thai people who bring "cotton", the country's products, to produce various patterns of hand-woven fabrics and charming in itself. It conveys the uniqueness of local wisdom in each region, causing Thai people nowadays to pay more attention to the use of Thai woven fabrics and to pay more attention to folk wisdom. Therefore, various royally-initiated projects such as the “Chitralada Shop” project were born. In 1998, Naresuan University saw the importance of continuation of preserving local wisdom in the field of woven fabrics that would ever fade away by time. The initiation of collecting products from various types of fabrics was therefore born to be a source of conservation and preservation of folk wisdom. Therefore, together with the project "Chitralada Shop" is a project by the royal initiative of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit with support on the budget. “Fabric Museum” Naresuan University exhibits cotton fabrics and products from the project by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn who officially opened the museum on December 1, 1999 by displaying the royal clothes in Her Majesty Queen Sirikit bestowed upon Naresuan University to this day. There is also an exhibition of fabrics and lifestyles of various ethnic groups with immigration and existing in the northern region, ancient cloth that has been used in various rituals such as the Tai Krang group, a group of people who migrated from Laos during the reign of King Rama III, an exhibition on the way of life of ethnic groups in 9 lower northern provinces including an exhibition room at the Chitralada Museum and a collection of handicraft products from various sources in the country to sell within the museum. "Fabric Museum" is something that reflects the charm. The identity of wisdom is transmitted. Ways of life and various concepts convey meaning on the canvas.
